Along the way, the bus will stop at Erldunda Roadhouse, home of the Emu. You will have the opportunity to feed the emus between feeding sessions, and the driver will explain the geological formation of Central Australia and other aspects of local social culture, including feeding these fascinating animals. At Erldunda Roadhouse, we’ll stop to see the famous land surveyor post marking the “Centre of the Centre” of Australia.
Then, we will continue through the ever-changing landscape and reach Kings Canyon. Once we arrive in Kings Canyon, your tour group will enjoy the spellbinding Rim Walk. (Self-Guided walk) The RimWalk is a 6-kilometre circuit that takes you into the Garden of Eden and back to the top to take in the 360 degree views. Depending on yourpace and how long you take to absorb the humbling scenery, the walk can take 3-4 hours. The start of the walk is the most difficult, with around 500 steep steps to climb.
After exploring Kings Canyon, we stop at Kings Creek Station for a well-earned break before continuing our journey towards Uluru.
Next stop is Mount Conner lookout. Commonly referred to by locals as "Fooluru," this massive flat-topped sandstone mesa is famously mistaken by tourists for Uluṟu (Ayers Rock) when they are driving west toward Yulara. We will show an inland salt lake that still exists from billions of years ago.
This is a great opportunity to relax, refresh and take in the atmosphere of the Australian outback before the next stage of your journey. Then we continue towards Uluru. On the way to Uluru, we stop at Curtain Springs Restaurant. Then we allow time for a short meal (at your expense) and proceed to Uluru.
Once we arrive at Uluru, we drop you at your hotel or accommodation in Uluru.

Erldunda Road House to Kings Canyon Bus Ride
You will continue to enjoy the landscape, wild animals, and desert experience throughout the journey. The journey from Erldunda Roadhouse to Kings Canyon starts- approximately 170 km. Travel along Luritja Road, a scenic route through the spectacular landscapes of Central Australia. Part of the Red Centre Way, this road connects Larapinta Drive with the Lasseter Highway and provides access to the breathtaking Watarrka National Park.
Named after the Luritja people, the traditional custodians of this region, the road offers travellers a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty and cultural richness of the Australian outback.
As you journey along Luritja Road, enjoy the changing desert landscapes, rugged ranges and unique natural environment. Your guide will share stories and insights about the Country, its people, history, flora and fauna, helping you gain a deeper appreciation of this remarkable part of Central Australia.
Kings Canyon Rim Walk (4 hours, stopping)
Once we arrive at the spectacular Kings Canyon and prepare for an unforgettable self-guided adventure along the famous 6-kilometre Rim Walk (Self-Guided walk). Follow the canyon edge through ancient sandstone landscapes and descend into the tranquil Garden of Eden, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and unique desert scenery.
The walk takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on your pace and how much time you spend enjoying the breathtaking views and capturing memorable photographs.

Mount Conner Lookout – The Famous “Fooluru”
Our next stop is Mount Conner Lookout, where you’ll have the opportunity to see one of Central Australia’s most distinctive landmarks.
Often nicknamed “Fooluru” by locals, Mount Conner is a spectacular flat-topped sandstone mesa that visitors travelling west towards Yulara often mistake for Uluṟu. From the lookout, you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to admire this impressive formation and capture some memorable photographs.
We’ll also introduce you to the fascinating geological history of the surrounding landscape, including the ancient inland salt lake and the remarkable geological processes that have shaped the region over billions of years.

From Mount Conner Lookout, we continue our journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Central Australia to Curtin Springs, a unique and welcoming outback station with a fascinating history.
Curtin Springs has been home to a local family for generations, who have embraced life in this remote part of the Australian outback. Take a break, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the opportunity to purchase food and refreshments at your own expense.
Curtin Springs has played an important role in the history of the region. In the 1930s, Paddy DeConley first took up the property for sheep farming, and it was known as Mount Conner Station. In 1940, the property was leased by Abraham Andrews, who originally proposed naming it “Stalin Springs” after Joseph Stalin. However, following objections from his sons, the property was renamed Curtin Springs in honour of John Curtin, the Prime Minister of Australia at the time.
Today, Curtin Springs offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into outback life, history and the enduring spirit of Central Australia.
